Learning to Love

Clara Hatfield knows sorrow. Having been abandoned by her husband, then shamed with divorce, she traveled to Creede, Colorado to seek refuge with a brother who left the family a decade ago. She’s been living with him for the past year. Now he wants to sell her in marriage to settle his gambling debt to a known troublemaker, but Bernard Newell intervenes. 

Bernard hopes his dangerous past is behind him. Desiring a peaceful life, he has settled in Creede and opened a law practice at the new boarding house where Clara works. She’s shy, and he’s bold.
